Privacy Policy

Scope

KhanPikeHome (this site and the services running under *.khanpikehome.com) is a personal homelab operated by Will Pike for the use of his immediate household. It is not a commercial product, has no user signup, and is not offered to the public.

What data is collected

Most services on this domain are private and require the operator's own credentials to reach. They process whatever data their owner chooses to store in them (e.g. personal calendar entries, contact records, notes). That data is stored on hardware physically located in the operator's home.

This public landing page (khanpikehome.com and www.khanpikehome.com) does not collect personal information from visitors. There are no analytics, no cookies, no tracking pixels, and no advertising.

Web server access logs (timestamp, IP address, user agent, requested path) are retained by the upstream CDN (Cloudflare) on its standard schedule, solely for operational and abuse-prevention purposes.

SMS / text message notifications

KhanPikeHome operates a private, non-commercial SMS notification program that sends operational alerts (for example service outages, failed backups, monitoring thresholds, and power or security events) to the operator and members of his household who have provided their own mobile number and agreed to receive them. There is no public sign-up; numbers are given directly to the operator.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with any third party. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, affiliates, or non-affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers are stored only in the homelab's own private configuration and are used solely to deliver the alerts described above.

Message frequency varies and depends on system activity. Messages are triggered by monitored conditions, so there is no fixed or recurring number of messages.

Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or reply HELP for help. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Google OAuth

Some private services on *.khanpikehome.com authenticate the operator against his own Google account via Google OAuth. The OAuth scopes used grant read or write access only to data already owned by that same account (e.g. the operator's own Gmail, Calendar, or Drive). No third-party user data is ever requested, received, or stored.

Tokens issued by Google are stored encrypted at rest on the homelab server and are used only to make API calls on behalf of the account that authorized them.

Third parties

Public-facing traffic to this domain is routed through Cloudflare (CDN, TLS, and DDoS protection). Cloudflare's privacy practices apply to that traffic at the network level.

Outgoing email from @khanpikehome.com addresses passes through Amazon SES and the addy.io alias forwarder; inbound mail uses addy.io as a forwarder to the operator's personal mailbox.

Data retention & deletion

Because no third-party accounts exist on this system, there is no user-facing deletion workflow. The operator can delete any locally stored data at will.

This policy may be updated as the homelab evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
